My latest obsession is pretty fantastic though. A few months ago I started attending a new church with a best friend. I loved every minute of it from worship to the service. Lifechurch is life changing. I have never felt so comfortable attending a church. For once in my life, I actually look forward to going. They've been talking about this Bible app for your phone that you can follow along with during the service. I take my Bible with me because well, I'm still old fashioned and just like flipping through it. I think it reminds me of bible drills from children's church, you know that race to see who can find it the fastest?
Anyways, a few weeks back I they were talking about it AGAIN and I downloaded it and basically forgot about it. Later that night I really started to dig through it to what it was all about.
And Oh. My. Gosh.
Life Changing!
There's a verse for each day. There's hundreds of different versions, I prefer good old NIV. And literally THOUSANDS translations!
I've been wanting to read the Bible completely through. I've tried several times but never gotten very far. They have all these plans that will take you through the Bible! I found one that is perfect for me. It breaks it down into small chunks that make it super easy for me to read and I don't feel overwhelmed. And there's no anxiety if I miss a day, it's even easy for me to catch up! I've even found a mini devotional for the days leading up to Christmas!
It takes about 20 minutes of my day. Most days I read it while my preschool babies are napping. It's so peaceful and quiet during that time. It's a nice little mid-day pick me up. I've found several times already that there was something I needed to hear. Like being persistent when I'm praying, something I definitely need to work on...
